The URL is http://www.ogit.gov.au/pubagls/manual.PDF In a few weeks time, after some further stylistic editing is conducted on the Manual, it will be mounted in HTML format on the Website of the National Archives of Australia at http://www.naa.gov.au/govserv/agls/ The User Manual has been written by DSTC Pty Ltd with input from a reference group convened by OGIT and in response to a tender process funded by OGIT. The Manual will be an evolving document. The National Archives, as AGLS Maintenance Agency, will take responsibility for additions and improvements to the Manual in response to practical deployment experience. In particular, the Manual gives guidance on the semantics of the 17 AGLS elements, 15 of which are also Dublic Core elements. The Manual does not give explicit guidance on matters of syntax. On the question of syntax I would refer interested parties to the 'Reggie' tool for metadata creation. Reggie provides excellent assistance as regards the syntax for AGLS meta-tagging. Reggie can be found at http://metadata.net Best wishes, Adrian Cunningham Director, Records Control National Archives of Australia email: [log in to unmask]
