I think Paul Treanor is getting some of his '-isms' in a twist, especially
in confusing racism, elitism and nationalism...

Even the most exclusive anglo journals don't (as far as I know) base their
selection policy on skin colour, cultural background etc, however they do
require the submissions to english. This might be wrong, and it might be
elitist, but it's not racist per se.

In addition there are some more hopeful signs, for instance the increasing
number of articles on Islamic approaches to economics in anglo (and French)
journals. Even if we can read several languages, there are always going to
be 'important' languages (what does that mean? another serious question) we
can't speak (can you read Arabic, Mr T?). So I for one am glad of this
trend- it's possibly the only way in which I can access this body of
knowledge.

Just a thought.
