I'm sure most of you have had an experience such as mine.

I work in an acute care setting with neurologically impaired individuals (CVA,
TBI, GB, brain tumors, SCI). Recently, our rehab unit consisting of RNs,
physiatrists, OT, PT, and SLPs have butted heads with a neurosurgeon who
thinks "rehab is a joke". He feels his patients will "get better on their
own". He performs a lot of surgeries on patients with brain tumors requiring a
craniotomy. He feels that natural recovery is as good as, if not better than
any rehab we can provide.

We will be meeting with this M.D. in the next few weeks. I'd like to present
documented research re: natural recovery vs. rehab on patients after brain
tumor surgery (or craniotomy). I am doing a Medline search, but would like
your input/suggestions re: any recent research article that would help prove
my point.
