My usual suggestion is H. Walther, Proverbia sententiaeque, if the quote
achieved the status of a proverb.  Some of Chrysostom (on Matthew) was
translated in the 12th century by Burgindio of Pisa, and some of the
material was quoted by Aquinas, esp. in Catena aurea.  The Index
Thomiticus might be worth a try.
