Today, 15 April, is the feast of ...

Basilissa and Anastasia, martyrs (65): Basilissa and Anastasia were noble
Roman matrons who were converted to Christianity by Peter and Paul. After
the martyrdom of the apostles, the two women removed the bodies of Peter
and Paul and had them buried honourably. As a result of this action,
Basilissa and Anastasia in turn were martyred.

Padarn or Patern, bishop of Ceredigion (5th-6th century): The existing
life of Padarn was written about the year 1120 and is a fusion of the
earlier legends of two separate people, Paternus, an abbot-bishop in
Wales, and another Paternus, a fifth-century bishop at Vannes in Brittany.

Ruadan of Lothra, abbot (584): Is reckoned as one of the twelve apostles
of Ireland.

Hunna or Huva, matron (679): Noble woman from Strasbourg. Because she
undertook to do the washing for her needy neighbours, she was nicknamed by
her contemporaries "The Holy Washerwoman."
