It should be pointed out that Wulfstan wrote that during the renewed
Danish invasions of the 10-11c and that the document contains a whole
catalog of sins which he blames for the English defeat: disrespect for
clergy, treachery in general, the sale of Christians as slaves,
non-observance of fasts, etc.
