University of Nottingham, Department of German Reader/Senior Lecturer in German Applications are invited for the post of Reader/Senior Lecturer in German to start on 1 September 1999 or as soon as possible thereafter. Candidates should have native or near-native competence in spoken and written German, teaching experience in one or more of the main branches of German Studies and a proven research record. Candidates with research specialisms in the modern and contemporary fields, which could include historical and/or political studies as well as literature, cultural or media studies are invited to apply. Salary will be within the range £30,496 - £34,464 per annum. The Department was rated excellent (22) in the recent Teaching Quality Assessment, gained the highest grade (5*A) in the 1996 HEFC Research Assessment Exercise and has an active postgraduate culture. We are looking for an outstanding candidate with evidence of strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and to research.
