University of Nottingham, Department of German Reader/Senior Lecturer in German Applications are invited for the post of Reader/Senior Lecturer in German to start on 1 September 1999 or as soon as possible thereafter. Candidates should have native or near-native competence in spoken and written German, teaching experience in one or more of the main branches of German Studies and a proven research record. Candidates with research specialisms in the modern and contemporary fields, which could include historical and/or political studies as well as literature, cultural or media studies are invited to apply. Salary will be within the range £30,496 - £34,464 per annum. The Department was rated excellent (22) in the recent Teaching Quality Assessment, gained the highest grade (5*A) in the 1996 HEFC Research Assessment Exercise and has an active postgraduate culture.
