I have been asked by a friend who's based in the south of Thailand if I have any comments about possibilities for sustainable transport projects in the area, particularly with respect to sustainable cities. I've done a quick literature review and the first reference I found is Birk and Zegras (1993) 'Moving toward integrated transport planning : energy, environment and mobility in four Asian cities'. Institute for Energy Conservation. I've also found the SUSTRAN Resource Centre and I'm working my way through some of their references. Has anyone got any other pointers that I can pass on? One comment that has been made concerns limitations on opportunities for promoting walking and cycling because of the climate.
