Hi! SPM is a free software, so there is no "manual" per se. But there are a lot of help pages which you could call a "manual" if you want to. First of all, get as much information as you can from www.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk. They tell you about the software, its use, the mailing list, and they also refer you to core SPM papers which you must read at some point as you start using the program more and more. Then, there is SPM help function for each module - it tells you in brief what each SPM module does, and refers you to the MATLAB source files which implement that module. The first couple of pages describe what the function does in greater detail than does SPM help function. It would be helpful if you know how to program in MATLAB (if you want to modify SPM's behavior) but it is not necessary to start using the program. I hope this helps. Welcome to the SPM world!
