He does however have an excellent section devoted to the oil shale workings. There are also Geological Survey and associated publications: - The Oil Shales of the Lothians (1927 2nd Edition - Carruthers, Cladwell, Bailey and Conacher) The Oil Shales of the Lothians (1942 Anderson - Wartime pamphlet 27) The Oil Shales of the Lothians (1942 Kennedy - Wartime pamphlet 27) I haven't seen any of these, but similar documents relating to the coal industry provide excellent background material.
