It has been suggested that an international mining history conference could be held in Cornwall to celebrate the new millenium, in July 2000 (PDMHS Newsletter 88 (Oct. 1998) p. 11). If such a conference is to have real international status and attract delegates from around the world it will require sizeable accomodation and lecture facilities. The Camborne School of Mines is a site which might immediately spring to mind but the facilities there are geared to a relatively small student population. Where do the organisers expect to find suitable facilities in Cornwall? In asking the question I have in mind any debate, in Mexico, on a venue for the 5th International Mining History Congress in 2002.
