-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apologies for Cross-Posting Conference Announcement Networking Moving Images for University Teaching and Research Location: Robinson College Cambridge Dates: 17th - 18th December 1998 Organisers: British Universities Film & Video Council (BUFVC) in association with the British Film Institute (BFI), the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) and the United Kingdom Education Research Network Association (UKERNA) This 24 hour conference meeting, which will take place at Robinson College Cambridge from 2.00pm on Thursday 17th December and will end after lunch on Friday 18th December 1998, is intended to provide interested parties with an opportunity to see and to find out more about the progress of the joint BFI/BUFVC/JISC Imagination/Universities Network pilot project. There will also be a chance to sample the activities of at least two other similar projects. One from the Netherlands intended for schools access and one from the British Film Institute intended for public access in the UK. The meeting, which will immediately follow the Network Strategies event organised by ACN/UKERNA, will be of interest to teaching staff with a special interest in the use of moving pictures, librarians, archivists and academic service providers.
