Please find below details of vacancy ADVERT University of Sunderland INFORMATION SERVICES Project Officer (VERITY) £22,852 - £24,872 Information Services at the University of Sunderland is leading in a number of research projects for electronic library development and has been successful in obtaining funding from the European Commission Telematics for Libraries Programme for a 27 months Trans-European project called VERITY. This will explore new ways of providing stimulating and educational electronic services by creating a web-based Virtual Librarian to support young learners (13-19 years) The Project Officer will undertake the research and lead the technical development of the programme, including liaison with the European partners and project administration. You must have excellent IT skills, particularly in knowledge-based or information retrieval systems and an awareness of developments in information science. Knowledge of html and Java or another high level programming language is essential. Experience in results-based research and project management are desirable. The post will involve travel to Europe.
