** More information in StudentZone
   -------------------------------

StudentZone, a service aimed primarily at higher education students, has
grown during the summer months as a result of additional input by its band of
part-time student editors and other work by the NISS editorial team. New
resources have been identified and added to existing subject sections, as well
as to new sections. Read on for details of these and other enhancements now
available at http://www.studentzone.org.uk/

Following the creation of two new sections, Academic and Life, there are now
ten main collections of information resources. These are:

       Academic Careers
       News Travel
       Legal & Finance Health
       Sport Life
       Ents Bods

Together they aim to cover the many and varied interests of students on and
off campus.

The new Academic section is organised by subject, and offers links under
each subject heading to information about PostGraduate Studies and Employment,
as well other online resources relevant to the particular topic, such as
professional societies, or dictionaries and translators (on the Languages
page).

The new Life section has begun with sub-sections such as Anti-Racism,
Charities, Environment, Shopping and Freebies, and will undoubtedly expand
further to reflect the complexities and pressures of late 20th Century student
lifestyles !

In addition to new resources added across the range of the other StudentZone
sections, Ents, the section dealing with a wide range of activities and
interests falling into the broad category of 'entertainment', has also been
expanded and improved. 'Dead' links have been weeded out wherever they have
been found on the StudentZone site, and other enhancements such as easier
navigation to homepages and better colour control have also been implemented.

are always welcome and can be emailed to [log in to unmask]
