Dear geodesists,

You might be interested to look up the OS Website http://www.ordsvy.gov.uk/
to see an OS Information Paper called 'GPS and mapping in the 21st century'
(go to 'research' then 'information and consultation papers' then 'autumn
1998'). Developments include the OS National GPS Network including 30-35
active stations by end 1999, and promotion of 3D transformations from ETRF89
(WGS84) to OSGB36/ODN with 20cm accuracy.

In the same issue (Autumn 1998) is a paper about National Interest in
Mapping Service Agreement (NIMSA), the new OS deal with government including
funding of national geodetic infrastructure, which has now been signed.

Please post your comments on this geodesy mail list.

Cheers, Phil.
