PROUDMAN OCEANOGRAPHIC LABORATORY
CCMS

The Wirral


We have a vacancy for a scientist to work on the
measurement and interpretation of absolute gravity
using a state of the art absolute gravimeter. This
work is part of a programme to measure vertical
crustal movements using absolute gravity and GPS
near tide gauges, in order to separate the climate
related changes in mean sea levels from the vertical
crustal movements at the tide gauges.

Applicants should have a good degree in mathematics,
physics, geodesy or a related subject and at least
two years postgraduate experience. Previous experience
in innovative interpretation of observational data
sets is desirable.

Starting salary will be from 17,000 to 23,800 pounds
depending upon qualifications and experience.

The post is for an initial period of three years.
