We are frequently requested by our clinical colleagues to refer tests not available locally to overseas centres for analysis. We cannot entertain all these requests and have to onsider each individually. We find it difficult to maintain fairness in this process. I wonder whether there is any written guideline by a professional body on what is a justified request for special cerntre/overseas referral. General comments on how you do it are welcome.
