To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Bone Alkaline phosphatase changes in paediatric fractures Date: Thu, 19 Nov 1998 09:46:01 GMT0BST I would be grateful to know of any work which has been carried out evaluating the chronology of changes in ALP post-fractures in young infants. We all know that there is an increase in ALP as a consequence of bone healing but is there any hard data out there which attempts to chart the changes as a function of time and the extent of fractures. I am aware of some work whcih has been reported recently (some of it in some rather obscure orthopaedic journals) with the new generation of bone ALP assays but it has been determined in adults. I imagine ethical restraints have in the past not permitted a systematic evaluation in the paediatric age group. Helen Losty %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
