	EQUALITY WORKS CONFERENCE 
	to be held on Tuesday January, 26th, 1999 
	at CVCP, Bloomsbury House, 20 Tavistock Square, London.

	This Conference will provide opportunities for examining the 
	complexities of EO implementation.

	Keynote speaker Janet Powney of the Scottish Council for
	Research in Higher Education and co-author of the HE & Equality 
	Guide will be presenting the findings of the:
	INTERIM IMPACT STUDY OF THE EQUALITY GUIDELINES.

	11.05-12.00	Open Participation Session - Brief (5 
				minute) institution-based 	presentations regarding issues 
				relating to implementation. 
	12.00-12.30	An Opportunity to Network 
	12.30-13.30	Lunch		     
				The Way Forward:
	13.30-13-50	Angela Ruddock, Head of Personnel Services at the 
				University of Central Lancashire, and
				Chair of CUCO'S Race and Ethnicity Sub-committee with a view
				from a Personnel perspective
	13.50-14.10	Dorma Urwin, Principal of University College Worcester 
				with a Principal's view
	14.10-15.40	'Question Time'  -  An opportunity to discuss issues 
				relating to implementation of the guidelines with a panel 
				including:  Joe Charlesworth - CRE, Anne Madden - EOC, Fiona 
				Waye - CVCP, Angela Ruddock and Dorma Urwin. 
	15.40-16.00 	Tea & Close

	Anyone interested in taking part in the Open Participation 
	Session should supply a brief  proposal of their talk, in writing, 
	no later than Friday 18th December, 1998.

	Conference fee is stlg95 for members and stlg110 for
	non-members.
