Dear Jessalynn,

your friend has a very interesting research topic! Although you haven't
stated it in your message, I would think that your friend must have
consulted the ongoing work on Giles's mss being undertaken by Concetta
Luna (although I don't recall whether she has published precisely on her
manuscript findings of this specific work).

As to United States -- AND CANADIAN!!! -- manuscripts, the best starting
point would be:

        AUTHOR: Ricci, Seymour de, 1881-1942.
TITLE: Census of medieval and renaissance manuscripts in the
United States and Canada: Supplement. Originated by C. U. Faye,
continued and edited by W. H. Bond.
PUB. INFO: New York, Bibliographical Society of America, 1962.
   DESCRIPTION: xvii, 626 p. 27 cm.
NOTES: Original "Census" published under the auspices of the
American Council of Learned Societies, July 1935.

There are, of course, several recent (and superb) manuscript catalogues
that have been produced since 1962 by major individual libraries.

How many mss has your friend found so far?

Alles gute, George
