We have just discovered a problem people should be aware of. Especially
all you PC/Microsoft users. We are using Dublin Core now for all our
documents (released this month). However, many of our clients who are
responsible for the documents use Microsoft Internet Assistant to update
their documents. If this is done it destroys most of the Dublin Core metadata
and replace it with its own "helpful" metadata statement shown below:

<META NAME="GENERATOR" CONTENT="Internet Assistant for Microsoft Word 1.02">

We are in the process of emailing Microsoft about this interesting feature,
but realistically the chances of getting a fix for it are probably quite small.

I urge others to also chase up Microsoft re this problem.

So to avoid losing Dublin Core metadata the best option at this stage is NOT
to use Internet Assistant for Word to update your HTML documents after they
have been converted to HTML.

regards

Arthur
