"It is said" that in the image of Our Lady of Walsingham her feet are on a
green stone known as the Toad Stone (supposedly an evil or unlucky stone in
East Anglia); and this represents her triumph over evil. In some modern
reproductions of the seal of Walsingham Priory a toad is shown on the side of
the stone. But I can't see it in any books with photographs of the original
seal.

Does anyone know anything about this Toad Stone business please?
