"It is said" that in the image of Our Lady of Walsingham her feet are on a green stone known as the Toad Stone (supposedly an evil or unlucky stone in East Anglia); and this represents her triumph over evil. In some modern reproductions of the seal of Walsingham Priory a toad is shown on the side of the stone. But I can't see it in any books with photographs of the original seal. Does anyone know anything about this Toad Stone business please? %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
