I had noticed this too, but on a few e-mails other than mailbase. I just assumed that those people had new e-mail software and that new was not necessarily better! One new user, with Acorn, did long lines, which did not wordwrap but I do not know if there was a connection with the new headings and the wordwrap. No doubt someone on the forum will explain.
