Dear Jane McLarty

The platform lift works only if you are addressing a single floor - and
costs in the order of 16,000 for a single floor.

The stair crawler options tend not to be too well liked by disabled people
- worth getting the opinion of other users of the building - there are lots
in cupboars, so a great second hand market in them!

Ideally the lift that goes in in the first place should be a high enough
specification to avoid frequent break downs. This sounds like an expensive
lift - how many floors it is doing. Your average three storey hydraulic
lift is anything between 30-50k - so is there some exaggerating going on?

Give us more to go on and we can be a bit more accurate in the options.

Regards
