THE CITY LITERARY INSTITUTE CENTRE FOR DEAF PEOPLE FURTHER AND HIGHER EDUCATION UNIT FOR DEAF STUDENTS Due to retirements and expansion of the service, this Adult Education College requires three lecturers to provide a support service to hearing impaired students following courses in Further and Higher Education institutions. Post 1 - Full-time Lecturer (ref. 136T) stlg20,400 (inc. London Weighting) to stlg22,695 (inc. London Weighting) per annum. One year fixed term contract initially. Based at Keeley House, London, WC2B The person appointed would be expected to undertake responsibility for the coordination of a BTEC Communication Support Workers course, tutorial work with deaf students as required and the monitoring the quality of communication skills of support workers. Applicants must be a qualified teacher with bilingual skills in BSL and English, be qualified to teach BSL to CACPD level II and hold a higher education qualification. Post 2 - Full-time Lecturer (ref. 137T) Post 3 - Full-time Lecturer (ref. 138T) stlg20,400 (inc. London Weighting) to stlg22,695 (inc. London Weighting) per annum. Based at Keeley House, London, WC2B The people appointed would be expected to assess student support needs provide tutorial and in-class support to students and provide support and training to host college staff. Applicants should be qualified teachers of the deaf or exceptionally have other relevant qualifications and experience, and have experience of peripatetic or off-site work with hearing impaired students. We would be particularly interested in receiving applications from people with specialist qualifications in mathematics, computing or audiology.
