Have just seen a wonderful advert for a set of cd's of classical music. Not
only is the crucial question: "Why is classical music so timeless?" posed
but it is answered: "Because it intensifies your emotions to the point
where all you can here is the music. Quite a leg up for students of human
nature. It is also pointed out that each of the eight cd's have a different
mood. Shots of a man and a woman on a sofa emoting as the titles of these
moods are displayed. The compression of lips while raising eyebrows and
staring into the middle distance to demonstrate one of the darker tones was
perfectly in line with current theory; but the man looking into the woman's
eyes and silently raising a pair of chopsticks to represent Inspiration was,
well, inspired. Look out for it.

Merry Christmas

Randolph Healy.
