Right on Marjorie! Esp re women & "Language". The steps in Oz however
are still tentative at best. But the main interest is from women and
this makes sense given the potential links between the
"specific" construction of a radical poetics and late second-wave
feminism. Post-feminism is not really part of the discourse in
Australia yet (in any practical way that is). Given the Howard
right wing govt even tokenism has gone out the door...

I was interested to read that Andrea Dworkin states Akhmatova as
her "closest companion" re poetry. She notes "Howl" as the High School
equivalent.
