These are exciting and turbulent times for all parties in the communication chain, and the very latest developments will be addressed at this Conference. * The electronic journals debate is taken a stage further with sessions on quality control, preservation, pricing and access control; while alternative methods of communication like pre-print archives also come under the spotlight. The progress of the HEFCE site licence initiative, as we approach the halfway stage in its life, will also be discussed. * A large trade exhibition, reviews of the latest products and services, the introduction of concurrent sessions, and opportunities for informal and social contact in the form of the UKSG quiz, Scottish dancing and anniversary celebrations all feature in this special programme. The UK Serials Group has a broad membership, comprising librarians, information specialists, publishers, database providers and subscription agents.
