A number of open issues remain in our Dublin Core discussions, some of which arise from DC changes proposed in the User Guide. In the next few messages I'll indicate what they are. Trying to explain the DC at a detailed level, as the User Guide Group did, is a useful exercise. It will not be surprising to technical writers that specification bugs turned up as a matter of course, especially in dealing with the usual problems you'd expect from any designed-by-large-committee effort. This prompted some of the DC User Guide changes as well as my tongue-in-cheek comment that the DC was hemorrhaging credibility; you'll see what I was getting at if you plow through my next bunch of messages. In that bunch I've tried to keep to one "open" issue per message. -John =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= John A.
