Subject: Kalamazoo 97: Correction

Because of an office error the following proposal for a Special
Session was omitted from the published Call for Papers:

TOPIC: The Literature of the Norman Conquest (2 sessions)

        Organizer: Linda Georgianna
                    Dept. of English
                    Univ. of California
                    Irvine, CA 92717

Description: These sessions will focus on cultural production in
England after the Conquest. Possible areas of
                        interest include historiography and sacred
                        biography (Latin, Anglo-Norman, and English),
                        books and bookmaking, linguistics, trilingualism,
the inventions of King Arthur (and Kind Edward
the Confessor and William the Conqueror, for that
                        matter), nineteenth century medievalism,
                        nationalism, and canon formation.

Those of you on other lists should feel free to promulgate this
announcement. I certainly regret any inconvenience that this error
may have caused Prof. Georgianna.
