This would encompass, for example, notions that were effectively believed to be (or ought to be) permanent, and how people acted or planned in accord with their perceptions. The desired effect of the papers is to allow medievalists of various fields and approaches to view their own research in new ways after participating in the conference. Keynote Lecturers include: Piero Boitani (Rome) E.A.R. Brown (New York) Roberta Gilchrist (Reading) Jacqueline Hamesse (Louvain-la-Neuve) Christiane Klapisch-Zuber (Paris) Richard Landes (Boston) Phyllis Roberts (New York) Jean-Claude Schmitt (Paris) Abstracts of papers for this *interdisciplinary* conference are invited.
