What makes General Practice non "technical"? This seems to perpetuate
the stereotype that the ideal GP doesn't know much, but is at least a
good communicator:- i.e. nice but dim! Surely GPs need just as much
technical knowledge as any specialist (ideally more since we have to
cover all specialities) whilst specialists should have just as good
communications skills as we like to think we have. The qualities
needed for good doctoring are pretty much universal.
