This happened yesterday: Patient with Hep.C. Also on Methadone. Some big name hospital want to give interferon. Some big shot says too dangerous given history. Big hospital want me to share the care. I get advice from HA Med Adviser who says stay well clear. As you can imagine, tons of correspondence and phone calls back and forth. Said patient in middle of Surgery screaming and yelling at me, calling me a f*** this and a f*** that, a pig, a dog etc. At the top of his voice middle of morning surgery promising action will be taken against me with arm outstretched with a pointing finger. That's not right. I am too old for that. I feel abused and ashamed. Sod this for a way to make a living.
