There has been some very interesting articles over the w/e on it. A letter today in the Guardian rightly points out that not saying no to donation should not be taken to imply yes by default. The donor might have had different views had he been allowed too. It is surprising that the Hospital took semen without his written permission and probably without due consideration to the nightmare it would cause. Is this legally an assault since he was still alive, although unconsciuos, and had not given his consent to a procedure which could not be in his best interest or germaine to hisimmediate problem? If Mrs Blood gets her way then surely it sets a precident that a spouses reproduction, even whole body, can be controlled by their partner? Would this then mean that a spouse could refuse a sterilisation or TOP or insist on a TOP? Paul Caldwell %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
