There has been some very interesting articles over the w/e on it. A letter
today in the Guardian rightly points out that not saying no to donation should
not be taken to imply yes by default. The donor might have had different views
had he been allowed too. It is surprising that the Hospital took semen without
his written permission and probably without due consideration to the nightmare
it would cause. Is this legally an assault since he was still alive, although
unconsciuos, and had not given his consent to a procedure which could not be
in his best interest or germaine to hisimmediate problem? If Mrs Blood gets
her way then surely  it sets a precident that a spouses reproduction, even
whole body, can be controlled by their partner? Would this then mean that a
spouse could refuse a sterilisation or TOP or insist on a TOP?
