I would never do a VE on *female* without a chaperone. I would never do a rectal exam without a chaperone on any woman below a certain age. This age will vary, depending on other factors (one of which will be any prior knowledge of the patient), but would be in the region of 70. Breasts: I have to admit to not often examining breasts with a chaperone. I should, I guess, and there will be those who think I'm mad, but there it is. This depends, more than on anything else, on how well I know the patient. Heading for trouble? Possibly, and not only on this front. Wait til you see my accounts. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
