Those who lived in Middle Earth were so adamant that Earth was flat. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. The point is: it took centuries for that particular "science" to be overturned. For millions of years, we believed that evil spirit caused disease until that Samuel fella made the connection with the water pump and was shortly followed by Koch. The point is: it took few hundred years to overturn the evil spirit "science". The point is: don't you all start to be terribly smug about "this" science we practise now. If you live long enough, it will, one day, be overturned and dismissed as quackery. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. The point is: who knows. The point is: if it works, great! And: if it ain't bust, don't fix it.
