I have a patient who had a hysterectomy 5 years ago. She has had a painful vault scar ever since. An operation to try and correct this was done about two years ago. A left oophorectomy and freeing of adhesions was unsuccesful. The pain appears to be superficial in the vault scar. SHe is unable to have intercourse. Has anyone seen this before? Is there any gynaecologists with an interest in complications of hysterectomy who she might be referred to (having lost faith in the consultants here in Sheffield)?
