I've recently installed a 3Com 3c589 (PC-Card) and a 3c509Combo ISA.
No problem getting either to work.

Well, I just got a second-hand Cabletron ISA card to install at
home, cost UKP 5, Win 95 recognised it as a NE200 compatible and
installed it fine. I looked at the Win 95 help screens to see how to
setup the networking, and within half an hour my home PC was talking
happily to the laptop with WfWG 3.11 and the 3c589 in it. Can't
grumble about that.
