Abstract:
This study aims to provide empirical evidence on the nature of the architectural design process by investigating the following question: What role do procedural and contextual activities and affordances play in the generation of creative insights, critical
moves, and the formation of design concepts in the reasoning process? This study demonstrates how these activities can be detected using the linkograph framework (a method used to analyse and visualise the creative process), allowing for a better understanding
of the conditions that foster innovation and creative thinking.
