Whether in design, the arts or science subjects, it has a dynamic role in fostering creativity in the learning process itself. It functions as a bridge, not only between theoretical concepts and tangible creations, but also between the knowledge shared by educators, students and practitioners. It is central to various disciplines, perhaps most obviously in design and the arts where it is taught as a stand-alone subject, but also in other fields where the visualization and communication of ideas, data and methods are central to teaching, learning and professional success.
