Hi all,
We have an idea for something that we think would be useful and would like to
hear your feedback on, to gauge how many would wish to take part.
I think I am probably speaking for most of us who work in local studies in saying it can be a little more isolated than other departments. That coupled with increasingly reduced ability to attend
conferences, workshops and other events, opportunities to network face-to-face have diminished. I know that I feel that sometimes the most enlightening part of a Zoom or Teams meeting are the 'break out rooms' where you get to know other participants a bit
better. It's very worthwhile to have a chat.

There is lots of
research to suggest [this isn't our sector but makes a lot of good points] that this is indeed a valuable part of working life with an array of benefits both personally and for your job. And you might even make a few new pals.
This type of thing can even be described as a 'venting event', which definitely can be a useful thing.
If you feel that LocScot hosting a regular informal online networking session where you can chat about your work, projects, problem solve, give and offer
advice or anything else really that might come up, would be beneficial to you, please respond on the survey above.
Or if you can come up with a funny and pithy name that we can use, please do let us know.
