Hi Kathryn We are only involved in the A-level mocks, and to be fair all they ask of us is two hourly-paid invigilators to make the experience more authentic. They do all the planning, timetabling, they just tell us when they need the invigilators. Hi all, Just got a quick query as I’m trying to get a general idea of if our team’s situation with Mocks is normal in a College environment… We have been asked to run a week of Mock exams for BTEC subjects this week, which has put a big strain on our time in terms of preparation for real BTEC exams being held in January and other AO exams being held next week . We’re trying to form an argument to support the Exams Team not being responsible for running these in future, or at the very least for them to be held at a different time of year… we’re a team of two at the moment and it’s been a nightmare! Could you let me know if your College holds Mock exams or not, and if you do: what time of year, which qual type you run them for, and if it is run by the exams team to imitate a real exam or held in lesson time and ran by teaching staff?
