Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to the second LUSTRE workshop organised by the AHRC-funded project Unlocking our Digital Past with Artificial Intelligence.
LUSTRE seeks to better understand how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help improve the preservation, access to and usability of government archives produced in digital form.
Through a series of talks and a round table, this day long workshop continues the discussion on the challenges and opportunities that AI offers to
the management and use of digital archives in the government sector and beyond.
The workshop will be a hybrid event (in London and online) on Thursday 4 May.
Please find below the invited speakers and the topic of their talks:
• Keegan McBride (Oxford Internet Institute) will talk about Artificial Intelligence in the Public Sector: Separating Myth from Reality;
• James Lappin (Loughborough University) will discuss the The Impact of AI on Records Management;
• Lise Jaillant (Loughborough University) will reflect on AI and Archives from a Researcher’s Viewpoint;
• John Sheridan (The National Archives UK) will talk about "Navigating the maelstrom (looking for lighthouses)"
• Jason R. Baron (University of Maryland) will offer insights on "The Newly Extended 2024 Start Date for Accessioning Records into the US
