Overview - Natural Language Processing (NLP) has revolutionised the way that humans and machines interact. We now use our voices to control all manner of digital devices, delegate writing and proofing tasks to personal assistants, and rely on all manner of automated language services in the workplace. The intelligent processing of natural language is woven into the very fabric of our everyday lives. But have you ever stopped to think about how it works, where it is heading or how you might take advantage of the opportunities it offers?
This half day workshop provides an accessible introduction to the world of NLP. We attempt to uncover some of the secrets of how it works, the benefits it provides and how to apply it to better manage, transform and exploit textual resources and other sources of unstructured data. No prior knowledge of coding is required or expected.
