I’m a bit late to the party, but here are a few items from our collection that might be of interest:
We have a collection of tiles with an array of farming/hunting/fishing imagery within it. They were originally made for
a display at the 1883 International Fisheries Exhibition and then afterwards were installed in a Fish & Game shop in Berwick Upon Tweed. We collected them in the late ‘70s and have since installed the majority of them in our 1900s chip shop exhibit. The
attached images are from when we documented the building immediately prior to extricating the tiles. (Object #: 1979-127)
We also have this large mural (painted on glass) from a butcher’s shop. It was painted in 1958 by Ella Coyle. Overall
dimensions are approximately 4m long by 1.4 meters tall. (Object #: 1996-134)

I can also share this pic, which was taken by my late friend Andrew Morley, in 1994. Location unknown (if anyone knows where these are, please let me know!)
Andrew was a respected authority on enamel advertising signs (some of us on the List, I’m sure, will have his books in our reference libraries) and he took a keen interest in any form of shopping / advertising of yesteryear, to compliment his enamel advertising signs expertise.

Hello
I’m looking for image references for internal butcher’s shop tiles that depict farmyard scenes. If anyone knows of any sources I’d love to hear please.
At Black Country Living Museum we are recreating an early 1950s butcher’s shop that had earlier, traditional tiling, including the following two scenes:
• Left mural: farmyard scene with animals – brown bullock, pig, couple of sheep, b/w bullock
• Right mural: wooded scene, cattle standing in a paddock.
We don’t know when our building would have had the murals added but we do know it was an independent butcher’s shop from at least the very early 20th century. The two murals are surrounded by white and Brunswick green tiling.
I am aware of the lovely butcher’s tiling at Jackfield Tile Museum, Ironbridge and have sent an email enquiry to their team.
