In-person fieldtrip to Mapesbury Road in Hampstead, London

meeting on the corner of Mapesbury Road and Willesden Lane (nearest Tube: Kilburn)

On Thursday 12 January, the group will meet for an in-person fieldtrip to Mapesbury Road, North London, where Paul Celan wrote his poem of the same name. The idea of this short walk is to explore the time, space and environment in which Celan wrote his poem from the point of view of the present. The audience will be invited to come up with their own creative responses to the poem and their experience of visiting the place where it was written. We will meet on the corner of Mapesbury Road and Willesden Lane (nearest Tube: Kilburn)

In preparation for the event, you are invited to listen to a short podcast recorded by Joseph Ford (ILCS) and Nicola Thomas which can be accessed here. The transcript of the podcast can be found here
