Dear all,

NERC are delighted to announce that we are working with Hopkins Van Mil on a new public dialogue to bring together public representatives, the environmental science community and NERC head office staff.

As part of this we are looking for environmental science researchers to be involved,  more details below:

The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) is inviting environmental science researchers to express interest in joining a public dialogue on contemporary issues in environmental science. The project’s delivery partners Hopkins Van Mil would now like to hear from researchers who are interested in becoming involved in the project, either as a participant or speaker at workshops or as a member of the co-design and advisory groups being established to inform the design and delivery of this project.

This dialogue presents NERC with a unique opportunity to listen to public representatives, environmental science researchers and stakeholders from the wider environmental science community and bring them together in conversation with NERC staff involved in designing and commissioning new research and innovation programmes to help identify shared areas of interest and priority areas under NERC’s remit. NERC endeavours to use the outcome of this dialogue to help inform future priority setting and contribute towards the next iteration of our Strategic Delivery Plan

The co-design group will meet 5 times (and the advisory group 3 times) over the next 6 months in online discussions initiated and facilitated by Hopkins Van Mil at key stages of the project. The objective for these groups is to co-design equitable dialogue workshops and influence the overall approach to delivering this project. The first meetings will be held on 2nd November (co-design group) and 30th November (advisory group), with workshops running December 2022 - February 2023.

Please contact Jamie Hearing at Hopkins Van Mil [log in to unmask] for further information. Hopkins Van Mil kindly asks for expressions of interest in the co-design and advisory roles to be made by Friday 14th October 2022.

Many thanks

Han
