You need some form of calibration image (of equilibrium tissue magnetisation). This would usually be acquired alongside the main ASL series data as a separate volume.

Hello,

Is there way to convert the ASL difference (tag-control) data into absolute units? In the examples, the resulting calibrated image is a meanCBF map. However, is there a way to convert to absolute units in the form of non-averaged volumes of CBF?

Thanks,

d.m.
