[apologies for cross posting]

Hi all,

I am sharing this Call for Workshops on behalf of the Organizing Committee of ECTEL 2022. Hope this is of interest to you, and please find the online version of this call at: https://ea-tel.eu/ectel2022/workshops

ECTEL 2022 Call for Workshop Proposals

ECTEL 2022 offers the opportunity to host half-day or full-day workshops. Organisers interested in coordinating a workshop need to submit their proposals through the form linked below no later than 4 May 2022. Notifications of acceptance will be sent on 18 May 2022. Accepted workshops will take place on 12 and 13 September, 2022 in Toulouse, France.

Workshops are expected to promote the conference theme (“Educating for a New Future: Making Sense of Technology-Enhanced Learning Adoption”). They should provide a place and an opportunity to generate ideas on emerging research topics and build a community around a group of like-minded researchers and practitioners. They should promote elaboration of learning technologies and discussion on ways how these technologies can create educational value for different stakeholders and contribute to efficient and effective education. Topics and formats that focus on bridging the gap between academia and business are especially welcomed. Workshops may include (but are not limited to) paper presentations, collaborative discussions, sharing a practical experience, putting forward a “real case”, tutorial sessions, etc. Workshop organisers are encouraged to propose innovative and interactive formats, which will be given priority in the selection process. The workshop selection will be handled competitively to achieve a balanced program. Ideally, a workshop should include different formats promoting interaction and participation. Proposals will be ranked according to their fit with the ECTEL 2022 conference topics, innovativeness, extent of interaction, overall quality, and comprehensiveness of planning including pre-workshop and post-workshop dissemination activities. In case of overlapping workshops, organisers may be asked to clearly differentiate the workshops or merge them.

****************************************************

ECTEL 2022 is planned as a face-to-face conference. At least one organiser of each accepted workshop will be expected to conduct it on-site. While individual online activities might be included in a workshop program, workshop organisers should encourage and promote face-to-face participation as much as possible.

****************************************************

When submitting a workshop proposal, organisers will need to indicate:

·       Workshop title and acronym

·       Workshop theme, list of topics addressed

·       Motivation on why the workshop is of particular interest at this time

·       Workshop objectives and expected outcomes

·       Proposed schedule and duration (full-day or half-day)

·       Workshop activities that participants should expect

·       The proposed timeline, including a tentative submission deadline for workshop participants

·       Workshop format and organisational timeline

·       The expected and maximum possible numbers of participants

·       Names, affiliations and emails of organisers

·       Tentative program committee and organisational requirements

The ECTEL 2022 organising committee will support workshop dissemination by including timelines of accepted workshops and links to their websites on the ECTEL 2022 conference website. Nevertheless, organisers of accepted workshops are expected to launch their websites (not later than 1 June 2022), identify workshop participants, and handle calls for workshop contributions as well as publication of workshop outcomes. The ECTEL 2022 organising committee reserves the right to cancel a workshop that does not attract enough participants.

When publishing workshop contributions, organisers are encouraged to target well-established workshop proceedings repositories (such as http://ceur-ws.org/) and/or high-quality publication outlets (international impact-rated journals, including special issues within them).
