Dear All

The ‘Rise of Metallurgy in Eurasia’ team is pleased to present you with the final project monograph (with the same title), which is open access and fully downloadable from:

https://doi.org/10.32028/9781803270425

I was reminded today that there was an email sent to this list back in 2010 by Chris Salter (below), kindly sharing the news of the earliest documented metal smelting to date discovered in Serbia and dated to c. 5000 BC. Eleven years forward, this date firmly stands, but we know much more (though never enough!) on the ‘how’ and ‘why’ behind this discovery.

The monograph is a finale of a long journey that many of the list members contributed to through chats and constructive feedback, offering a helping hand or providing inspiration with their excellent research publications. For that, we remain eternally grateful.

We hope that you enjoy the resulting volume and we remain open for continuing discussion on the topic.

With best wishes for the coming holidays, and Happy New 2022!

Miljana (on behalf of the team)
